Date: 01-05-2026in the true spirit of compassion and service, Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) marked Labour Day by reaching out to workers with the distribution of sweets and food kits at a labour camp-spreading warmth, care, and appreciation for their invaluable contributions. A few days earlier, ICBF had also carried out a food kit distribution drive at another labour camp, with the generous support of Seva Group, further strengthening this humanitarian effort. We extend our sincere gratitude to Seva Group for their valuable support, and to all community members and well-wishers who continue to stand with ICBF in serving those in need. Over the past two months, during the pandemic and beyond, ICBF-together with the support of the community and well-wishers-has distributed more than 500 food kits benefitting to more than 3000 labours, fishermen across Qatar. Each kit, valued at over QAR 300, contains essential daily and monthly ration items, with the total value of support exceeding QAR 150,000. These initiatives have reached labour camps, fishermen communities, and various underserved groups across the country. Date: 01-05-2026Strengthening Collaboration for a Drug-Free Society: ICBF Meets GCC-CICCD Officials The Indian Community Benevolent Forum Managing Committee had the privilege of meeting Major Naif Al Mutairi, Head of International Cooperation, and Mr. Abdelrahman Abdelhamied, Intelligence Expert, International Cooperation Unit, at the GCC Criminal Information Centre to Combat Drugs. During the meeting, the team was given an insightful briefing on the Centre's vital role in combating drug-related crimes, including its close coordination with law enforcement and intelligence agencies across the GCC and internationally. The discussion focused on the growing global challenge of drug abuse and trafficking, and the need for strong collaboration, awareness, and preventive strategies to address this serious issue. It was also emphasized that Doha, and Qatar as a whole, maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, with stringent laws and proactive enforcement measures. This firm stance has played a key role in safeguarding the community and maintaining public safety, making the country one of the safest places to live and work. ICBF Managing Committee President Shanavas Bava, Vice President Rasheed Ahmed, and General Secretary Deepak Shetty participated in the meeting, reaffirming ICBF's commitment to supporting initiatives that promote awareness and contribute to a safe, drug-free society. Held at the Gulf Contracting Company accommodation in Barwa Al Baraha, the session witnessed enthusiastic participation from members of the Indian expatriate community representing various states of India. The program featured insightful sessions by expert resource persons: * MI Khaleel, Clinical Psychologist at Hamad Medical Corporation *Mr. Mohd Junaid, Psychology Trainer *Mr. Abdul Rasheed, Health & Safety Trainer and Behavioral Coach They addressed key topics such as mental health, remote parenting challenges, strengthening family bonds, children's emotional well-being, career planning, and vocational guidance-areas that deeply resonate with our community living away from home. The event was graced by Dr. Eish Singhal, First Secretary (Labour & Community Welfare, Visa & OCI) and Coordinating Officer of ICBF, as the Chief Guest. Certificates were presented to the representatives of Gulf Contracting Company by the Chief Guest and the ICBF President, in recognition of their support. Date: 24-04-2026The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), in collaboration with KWIQ, proudly supported the successful completion of Pusthak Mela Season 9, which concluded yesterday after five days of vibrant participation and meaningful community engagement. Now in its ninth year, the mela continues to stand out as a purposeful initiative promoting knowledge sharing and academic resource exchange within the community. This year's event witnessed an overwhelming response, with more than 2,000 parents visiting the venue. Over the course of five days, approximately 20,000-25,000 academic books were exchanged, benefiting a large number of families and supporting students in their educational journey. The official inauguration ceremony was held on 27th March at Kanjani Hall, ICBF, and was graced by H.E. Ambassador Mr. Vipul as the Chief Guest. The Ambassador expressed his deep appreciation for the initiative, noting that being part of this event brought him immense satisfaction. He commended the efforts behind organizing such a unique and impactful community-driven program that continues to make a meaningful difference. KWIQ President Mrs. Anju Anand expressed her gratitude to ICBF for its continued support in organizing the Pusthak Mela over the past several years.
